The transfer of radiation by a plane-parallel atmosphere containing a polynomial distribution of emission sources is solved using the method of doubling, combined with symmetry principles. Calculational results are presented for linear and quadratic source distributions embedded in a medium that scatters light in accordance with the spherical phase function with albedo.
