Attention is given to a method for obtaining the completeness limit of a sample of proper motions using the approximation of Hanson (1979) and for obtaining the distance up to which the detection of moving group members is complete. The position angle distribution analysis of Eddington (1907) is generalized to the case of different velocity dispersions in each of the tangential coordinates, a nonzero velocity centroid, and a nonzero correlation coefficient. A method is proposed for fitting the observed position angle distribution to obtain the number of objects and a nonbiased velocity dispersion estimation for the moving group.
