This contribution is to be understood as an answer to the article of K. Krisciunas which appeared in the DSN issue 9 (1995) on the slow F-type variables - or Gamma Dor stars as they appear to be termed now. We aim at correcting the statement by Krisciunas on the number of unstable oscillation modes which were allegedly found in F-type star models by one of us (A.G.); actually we would be quite happy if this would be the case. Krisciunas must have misinterpreted estimates on the number of modes A.G. expected to be unstable if a classical destabilization mechanism were at work in the Gamma Dor stars. This occurred during a series of e-mail discussions with K.Krisciunas on the particular topic. In addition, we will contribute a few thoughts on the Gamma Dor-type variability mainly as a continuation of aspects which were touched upon in the Krisciunas article.
