A giant pulsation (Pg) is described that was observed at different times with two arrays of magnetometers and with radar. The drift velocity, azimuthal wavenumbers, and longitudinal phase variations of the Pg over a large area are calculated along with the ionospheric convection electric field. The energies of the protons are given at around 10-20 keV depending on pitch angle, and energies of about 5-18 keV are derived to satisfy the bounce-resonance condition based on azimuthal numbers from magnetometer and radar data. The substorm particle injection preceding the Pg by one day is theorized to have donated the protons that drove the Pg, and the energies of the protons are given at near 11-24 keV. Bounce resonance is shown to be a tenable mechanism for generating the Pg event based on the data and analytical results.
