In 1929, Bobrovnikoff stated that, "If an occasional asteroid were not a single body but consisted of several pieces [...] we could never tell the difference." We propose the study of possible binary asteroid pairs: 18 Melpomene, 216 Kleopatra, 532 Herculina, 146 Lucina, 624 Hektor, and 192 Nausikaa. We have found that the parameters of mean separation and throughput of these pairs to be within the observational constraints of the WF/PC Hubble Space Telescope Instrument. Using HST we hope to assess the validity of Bobrovnikoff's statement and thereby further our understanding of binary asteroids and the dynamics of the main belt region.
