A recent determination of the mass of the b quark, based exclusively on
quantum chromodynamics (by avoiding strictly to introduce any phenomenological
interaction potential of nonperturbative origin), may be improved by allowing
for a merely numerical solution of the corresponding eigenvalue problem.
