Ground-based and Cassini-based images suggest a wide range of cloud types at various altitudes ranging from stratiform to cumuliform with seasonal or sporadic coverage, while the Cassini radar experiment has observed changes to lake levels and dry lake beds that presumably were once filled. Previous studies have forwarded relatively simple models to describe these observed elements of Titan's volatile cycle. Further, these studies have often ascribed the presence of clouds to specific air-sea interaction processes. We will use results from a fully dynamic and physically consistent numerical model of Titan's atmosphere and clouds - The Regional Atmospheric Modeling System - to interpret the observational data of clouds and lakes and to test and evaluate the various cloud processes and formation mechanisms provided in the literature.
