We use the wavelet transform to characterize the intrinsic anisotropies of the CMB. We also analyze simulated maps of the CMB (12.8 ° × 12.8 ° and pixel size 1.5' × 1.5') containing noise. The denoising of such maps produces reconstructed images and Cl's with an error of ≃ 15% and a few %, respectively. The models considered include: SCDM, OCDM with Ω = 0.3, 0.1, a couple of non-Gaussian models and non-uniform noise.
