Results of numerical experiments are presented on the modification of the equatorial F-region by the injection of the plasma-quenching substances H2 and H2O. It is shown that the injection of moderate amounts of H2 (about 100 kg) and H2O (about 1000 kg) can produce a considerable restructuring of the equatorial F-region over distances of several hundred kilometers both at night and during the day. It is also shown that injection effects at low latitudes are significantly more stable than at midlatitudes.
