During the week from 4 to 7 May 2004 was h e l d in Frascati at ESRIN the ACVE-2 workshop about the validation of chemistry instruments, namely GOMOS, MIPAS and SCHIAMACHY. Here we summarize the appreciation of the GOMOS team on the work that was reported by the various validation groups concerning the validation of GOMOS m e a s u r e m e n t s , with some additional comments. We will examine the most salient features of the validations sorted by product (vertical profiles of species O3, NO2 , NO3, a e r o s o l s , O2, H2O , High Resolution Temperature profile and Air and Temperature profile)
