The peculiar binary system VV Cephei consists of a B-type star with a circumstellar disk and a red supergiant. Every 20 years the cool component eclipses the hot one. The author discusses the physical properties of the system, including the latest spectroscopic and photometric observations. The outlook for the next eclipse, which will take place from 1996 - 99 is given.
