We propose to map the distribution and variation in density and temperature of the intracluster medium in and between the members of the A3528 complex: A3528-north, A3528-south, A3530, A3532. This allows us to study how on-going mergers affect the dynamical parameters of these clusters and the physical characteristics of the galaxy population. The proposed XMM observations will complement our extensive studies of the A3528 complex in the Shapley Supercluster that we are carrying on in the optical and radio wavebands.
