HD 110432 is a variable hard X-ray source which has been suggested to be wind-fed Be binary, but it is perhaps more likely to be an analog of the enigmatic X-ray Be star gamma Cas. The discovery of an analog to gamma Cas would establish the existence of a small but new important class of single X-ray Be stars. We propose to obtain RGS and EPIC spectra of this source to address this question. Thanks to a Chandra investigation, we now know what a "gamma Cas" spectrum looks like: a strong ~11 keV continuum which is attenuated at long wavelengths,Fe K lines, a broad DEM extending to H and He-like ions radiating down to only 1 MK, collisional signatures, and moderate Fe K fluoresence. Among hot stars, this is so far unique enough to serve as a prototype for a new class of X-ray spectrum.
