We present results from the early phases of a project to fit models to ROSAT PSPC data for clusters and groups of galaxies. We find that in all systems studied, the distribution of hot gas is flatter than that of the dark matter and that the gas fraction is ~15-25% within the region studied. However, profiles differ significantly in shape across the sample.
