GRBs are by now a rather well known phenomenon in the soft gamma-ray energy band due to the observations by BATSE, Beppo-SAX and other satellites. Their cosmological nature is now widely accepted, as it has been clamorously confirmed by the Beppo-SAX observations of counterparts in the X-ray band of some GRBs. Within the framework of the fireball model for the GRBs and following Totani's unified model for the GRB energetics, we compute in detail the high energy gamma-ray flux expected from GRB sources. We also show that the presence of magnetic fields nearby the GRB sources cause a temporal spread of the high-energy gamma-rays, with respect to the signal in the soft gamma-ray band. Finally, we analyze the GRB detectbility in the high-energy band by the ARGO detector, under construction in Tibet.
