High amplitude X-ray brightness oscillations during thermonuclear X-ray bursts were discovered with the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer (RXTE) in early 1996. Spectral and timing evidence strongly support the conclusion that these oscillations are caused by rotational modulation of the burst emission. If rotation sets the observed frequency the oscillations should be stable over long timescales (years). Here I present a comparison of oscillations in a pair of bursts from the LMXB 4U 1702-429 which ocurred ~ 4 years apart. The time vs frequency tracks, as well as the highest frequency along the track are nearly identical. This further supports the need for a highly stable frequency such as rotation for the burst oscillations.
