A class of spacetimes with classical quasiregular singularities is shown to be quantum mechanically singular as well. These static spacetimes with dislocations and disclinations are quantum-mechanically singular since the spatial portion of the wave operator is not essentially self-adjoint and thus the evolution of a test quantum wave packet is not uniquely determined by the initial wave function.
