An optoelectronic measuring method for straightness tests in machine construction is presented. The general problems of straightness measurements and alignment verification, and the applied testing methods are outlined. The proposed optoelectronic system can be widely used as a mobile comparative measuring system as well as permanently in machines (integrated in process controls) due to its simple functional principle, modular construction, and simple handling. The measuring principle is experimentally demonstrated, and the systematic deviations were determined.
