Orbital light curves obtained during 1979-1983 for different states of the mean brightness of AM Her are analyzed. The dependence of the amplitude of these curves on the mean brightness was obtained; the highest amplitude was observed at the beginning and end of the 'active' state. The variation of mean brightness during the period of observations was found to have a semiregular character with alternation of wide (500-600d) and narrow (350-400d) waves, with an average cycle of 900d.
