The galactic-plane survey of the Midcourse Space Experiment (MSX) revealed thousands of dark clouds at 8 micron. These clouds have large densities (10^5 cm^-3) and low dust temperature of order 10-20 K , which are typical for molecular clouds that form stellar clusters including massive stars. Here we chose eight prominent southern MSX infrared dark clouds with high extinction. we propose to map these sources in N2H+, HCO+, HCN and SiO lines, to search for potential massive pre-stellar cores and to study their characteristics sysrtematically.
