Analogies between the zonal wind systems in the stratospheres of Venus and Titan are examined. Venus' super-rotation wind speed is close to the value that maximizes zonal momentum pumping by the semidiurnal thermal tide. If Titan's zonal wind also maximizes pumping by this tide, the maximum equatorial super-rotation wind speed is 100 m/sec. On Venus a zonal jet structure is superimposed on the background super-rotation. It is shown that a simple scaling relation describes well the speed and latitude of low latitude jets on planets from Venus to Saturn. Applied to Titan, this scaling predicts a jet speed of 10 to 20 m/sec in the latitude belt 30 to 40 deg superimposed on the background super-rotation.
