We would like to establish the properties of further confirmed members of an elusive new kind of radio sources which do not exhibit any detectable radio emission for a long period of time, while they appear quasi-periodically as bright radio pulsars for a presumably short time-scale. Our discovery implies that many more such objects exist as they are extremely difficult to detect and confirm. We would like to continue our study of this new class of radio sources as their existence bears important implications for pulsar searches, population studies of neutron stars and their relation to supernova event rates. We suggest an unusual monitoring mode of 5min per pulsar for every suitable pulsar session at Parkes.
