Diamond's radiation hardness, low capacitance and charge collection time make it an ideal choice for very high speed environments. Because of these properties the ATLAS experiment has chosen to use diamond for its Beam Conditions Monitor (BCM) the innermost part of the ATLAS detector which will begin being installed in the Spring 2006. Results from final prototype ATLAS-BCM modules and the first production modules are presented. These use polycrystalline Chemical Vapor Deposition (pCVD) diamond sensor material, and a 2 ns shaping time readout electronics and show the advantages of diamond in a very fast signal environment.
