Scientific paper

It is shown that for a cosmic body under the effect of its own
gravitational field, it is energetically efficient to obtain an electric
polarization if the mass of the body is large enough. This effect
explains the appearance of magnetic moments of cosmic bodies and their
dependence on the angular momenta.
