SN 1987A is the brightest supernova in 384 years and it is turning into the youngest supernova remnant at age 20. We propose to make one observation during 2006B of the reverse shock in the SN 1987A supernova remnant with the GMOS+Integral Field Unit (IFU). These ground-based observations will allow us to continue the investigation of the reverse shock as it evolves on the time scale of 6-12 months. Even in average seeing, ground-based observations can spatially resolved the blue and redshifted parts of the reverse shock, and separate it from the ring (see Figure 1).
