In this paper we study kink oscillations of coronal loops with the density varying along the loop and also slowly changing with time. Using the Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) method we obtain the adiabatic invariant that determines the time dependence of the oscillation amplitude. The obtained general results are applied to kink oscillations of cooling loops. The main conclusion of this study is that cooling causes the amplification of kink oscillations.
