Solar Active Regions: Aurorae
Scientific paper
In this paper the investigation of peculiarities of microwave emission of solar active region is presented. By analogy with Earth's magnetosphere, we discuss the possibilities of "aurora phenomenon" caused by energetic particles precipitating in the magnetic loop trap above sunspots. These energetic particles could heat plasma layers in the zone of the spot gyro resonance emission. As model calculations show the inverse of temperature gradient can cause the inversion of sign of polarization along with a significant increase of emission flux. These effects can be observed multi wavelengths microwave observations. Moreover, "aurora phenomenon" can explain the inversion of polarization sign in some recent observations. The modeling of the gyro resonance emission for the sunspot source with a thin hot layer is presented and discussed.
