We searched continuous gravitational waves from a possible pulsar in the SN1987A remnant, using 1200 h of data obtained by the TAMA300 gravitational wave detector. As a result of this data analysis, no gravitational wave was found. The background noise level follows the Rayleigh distribution very well, which puts an upper limit of h ~ 5 × 10-23 (CL 99%) in strain amplitude on the possible continuous gravitational waves from the direction of the SN1987A remnant.
