The effects of the increase of the galactic cosmic ray intensity during the Maunder and Spörer minima in the level of 39Ar radioactivity in iron meteorites with different dates of fall have been analysed. The strong dependence of these effects on the size of meteorites has been ascertained. It is shown that the effects of temporal and possible spatial variations of galactic cosmic rays in the level of 39Ar radioactivity are by far less essential than the observed 39Ar variations in different samples of the same meteorites due to depth effects.
