The boulder-free slopes, lack of surface flow paths, abrupt steepening
of valley longitudinal profiles, and layered stratigraphy suggest that
Aeolis Mensae fretted terrain formed primarily by aeolian erosion and
mass wasting of a sedimentary deposit.
