Monthly mean total ozone data from Syowa, Antarctica for 1961-1985 indicate decreasing ozone in October months, particularly after 1980. Total ozone values for October at Syowa are about 48 D.U. higher than corresponding data from Halley Bay, with similar decrease in ozone with time noted for both stations. Linear regression analysis of the 1974-1985 period shows decreases for all months for which data was available, with particularly large decreases occurring in October and November months.
