The major results of studies in the area of atmospheric-optical phenomena, observed from manned Soviet spacecraft, are described. The large role of visual observations in studying the space and time distribution of the radiation of the aurora borealis, noctilucent clouds, emissions of the upper atmosphere, and the twinkling of bright stars and planets is shown.
