Absolute transition probabilities have been measured for 80 lines from 14 levels in Mn I by mean-foil time-of-flight lifetime measurements combined with emission branching ratios from a hollow-cathode source. Using the Preliminary Edition of the Kitt Peak Solar Atlas the photospheric equivalent width for six of these lines that lie on the linear segment of the curve-of-growth has been measured. These lines yield a mean solar Mn abundance log (NMn/NH) + 12 = 5.55 (+0.12 -0.19).
