How high-energy protons (0.0000001 - 0.000000001 eV) are sources of disturbances in the temperature fields of the mesospheric and stratospheric layers and in the pressure fields in the troposphere and stratosphere are discussed. The authors conclude that the mechanism which caused the temperature effects is most likely related to the change in the structure of the interplanetary magnetic fields and the nature of the irradiation of the earth by soft cosmic rays with energies 1-5 times 10 to the 8th power eV.
