We have found K feldspar microcrystites in the Eltanin impact layer in
core ELT13-4. This implies that there was a simultaneous or previous
continental impact to the oceanic Eltanin impact layer. These K feldspar
spherules may be useful to provide a maximum age for the Eltanin impact
event.
