Results of an analysis of the cosmic-ray energy spectrum using the polygonato and diffusion models are presented. Both models produce similar energy spectra and one may conclude that the results are quite consistent with each other. This may indicate that the knee in the cosmic-ray energy spectrum is caused by diffusion processes in the Galaxy.
