The Fokker-Planck equation governing solar proton transport is solved numerically in three dimensions (time, radial distance, energy), assuming a power-law dependence of the diffusion coefficient on both radial distance and energy. The results obtained are used to re-examine the decay of a solar flare particle event. It is shown that the exponential decay of the event considered can be modeled very well by a numerical solution to the full Fokker-Planck equation with delta-function-type (instantaneous) injection and an outer free-escape boundary at 10 AU.
