In order to meet the strain sensitivity requirements of the Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO), the laser amplitude noise must be reduced to a level of 1 × 10-8 δP/P, in the bandwidth between 40 and 100 Hz, before injection into the interferometer. This paper describes the control system implemented to meet this goal.
