The spin properties of the ground-state dense baryon matter are discussed in the nucleon as well as in the quark phase. Predictions for magnetic properties of neutron stars possessing a ferromagnetic core are given. Astrophysical measurements of the magnetic fields of neutron stars are reviewed. An attempt is made to reproduce the data with the ferromagnetic core model.
