We study the contributions from a known two-point correlation function to the total configurational probability, and to counts in cells and higher-order correlations. Under precise hypothesis, an exactly solvable model is derived. Counts in cells obtained from it fit extremely well observational data from red-shift surveys, without having to adjust any free parameter at all.
