Scientific paper

Centauro, Geminion and Chiron cosmic ray anomalies are discussed. A
threshold in the electromagnetic shower development is suggested. Above
the thresold, the electromagnetic shower frequently contains hadrons.
This anomalous shower development can explain the muon signal from
Cygnus X-3 observed by underground detectors.
