The recent discovery of 9 new millisecond pulsars in addition to the previously known pulsars brings the number of known pulsars in 47 Tucanae to 20. Thirteen of these pulsars are in binary systems with 8 of them having orbital periods of less than 10 hours. Scenarios which lead to the formation of these systems imply the existence of a population of progenitor systems which consist of short-period neutron star/white dwarf binaries which will be detectable by space-based gravitational wave detectors such as LISA. The angular resolution of LISA will be such that these systems can be identified as members of 47 Tucanae. Once detected, the period distribution of this population can be used to verify the models for the production of millisecond pulsars in globular clusters.
