Giant HII regions span a luminosity range of 10^39-10^41 ergs s^-1. At the high end of this range are the three luminous giant HII regions in M101, NGC 5461, NGC 5462, and NGC 5471. The luminosities of these regions rival those of nuclear starburst regions. Only low-resolution data are available up to now, hence intriguing phenomena can be diagnosed but not studied in detail. Therefore, we request WFPC2 images of these three giant HII regions in M101, in order to study the structure of the ionized interstellar medium and the properties of the stellar content with the highest resolution. The results will help us understand starburst process and the formation of clusters.
