We present medium resolution spectral (BBXRT) and spatial (Rosat HRI) data for the Seyfert 2 galaxy NGC 2110. An extended component is seen in the HRI data which contains ~ 10% of the total flux between 0.1-2 keV and aligns with the known radio jet, extending 6 arcseconds to the north. To model the BBXRT spectrum, a soft excess is required above absorption of the low energy continuum by a uniform column density of 3.0 times 10(22) cm(-2) . This excess accounts for ~ 10% of the observed BBXRT flux between 0.3-2 keV. It has previously been suggested that the soft excess in NGC 2110 is due to leakage of the central point source continuum through a patchy absorber. We propose instead that the observed excess is associated with the spatially resolved soft component seen in the HRI. Various X-ray emission mechanisms for such an extended component are discussed.
