The aim of the Magnetometry Mission is to provide continuous monitoring of the magnetic field near the Earth, in particular the part that originates within the Earth's core and the contribution of electric currents in the ionosphere and the magnetosphere, together with a determination of the long-wavelength part of the lithospheric magnetic anomaly field.
