We show that the relativistic perihelion advance in a weak spherically
symmetric gravitational field is completely accounted for by Abramowicz
S expression for the centrifugal force. This explanation for the effect
relies on a single, well-defined prescription, and is much simpler than
others which have been suggested in the literature.
