We will use Phoenix on Gemini South to obtain high resolution K band spectra of a sample of 22 low mass young stars in the Orion Nebula Cluster. These data will be used to measure the magnetic field properties on these stars which in turn will be used to test magnetospheric accretion models in young stars, turbulet dynamo models, and the role primordial magnetic fields play in the magnetic properties of young stars.
