Neutrinos are of great interest in both nuclear physics and astrophysics. Astrophysical environments provide many opportunities to study neutrino oscillations. Both ordinary stars, such as our sun, and also supernovae, release neutrinos which undergo flavor transformation. We will provide a general discussion of these transformations. We will also discuss in particular, two applications, the role of neutrino scattering and flavor transformation in supernova nucleosynthesis, and possible observable consequences of neutrino transformations on the neutrino signature of the next galactic supernova. note
