The true colors of stars obtained from results of a spectral classification up to 14.0 m are compared with the corresponding results obtained by using the P-Q method. It is shown that the photometric method cannot be used for determining the true colors of stars, isolating probable cluster members, and studying physical characteristics of star clusters.
