The author presents a model of the formation of bound objects induced by loops of cosmic string in a universe dominated by cold matter. It is shown that accretion before Zeq is important. Large objects the size of the Virgo supercluster will have collapsed by the present epoch. Collapse will continue to occur for z < Ω0-1. Galaxies are formed predominantly by secondary infall. The velocity dispersion of collapsed objects as a function of mass seems tenable.
